Shepherd University Signage Case Study

Nestled within the Shenandoah Valley of West Virginia, Shepherd University is the home to over 4,000 graduate and undergraduate degree-seeking students. Founded in 1871 utilizing a single vacated courthouse, Shepherd University has since spread over 300 acres and has added 11 new buildings.

Following the guidance from the University’s Crossroad Strategic Plan Priority #3: Create a Beautiful and Welcoming Campus, Shepherd University hired the signage experts of Howard Industries PRIME Sign Program to evaluate and redesign its campus signage.

Through multiple phases, Howard Industries PRIME Sign Program created and implemented a campus wide signage program which not only beautified the grounds of the facility, but also improved visitor wayfinding by refining navigation between the East and West Campuses.
